Earth Day - Bay Day Celebration

Corpus Christi Ecological Services Field Office staff participated in the Earth Day- Bay Day sponsored by the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Approximately 15,000 attendees had access to information on endangered species, migratory birds, and the importance of recycling.  Hands on youth activities included a bird habitat game and a climate change quiz.  Representatives from the Navy's South Texas Natural Resource Partnering Team, Padre Island National Seashore (National Park Service), U.S. Coast Guard,  U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Sierra Club, Audubon Society, and Texas A&M University‚Äôs Center for Coastal Studies presented educational activities and materials.
