LAREDO FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT
Southwest Region, October 18, 2006
Print Friendly Version

A fisheries survey was conducted on Chacon Creek in Laredo, Webb County, Texas, on October 18, 2006, by Corpus Christi Ecological Services Field Office and City of Laredo Environmental Services Department personnel.  The purpose of this survey was to determine baseline fish-community structure within the area of Chacon Creek that could be potentially impacted by stream modifications, development, and/or construction activities associated with possible future flood control projects.  Results of this survey characterized the fish assemblage as limited to intermediate.  This may possibly be attributed to nominal in-stream flow, limited in-stream habitat and/or marginal water quality.
