Tri-Party Sikes Act Training - Pilot Course

 The Service with DOD, and the International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (IAFWA) developed and offered a pilot Sikes Act Training Course at NCTC.   Participants from across the country included representatives from the Service, State Fish and Game agencies, Army, Navy, Air Force and DOD personnel.  Pat Clements, Senior Biologist, from the Corpus Christi Ecological Services Field Office and a Member of the South Texas Natural Resources Partnering Team (a cooperative partnership with the local Navy installations and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department), as well as Steve Helfert (Region 2 DOD Liaison) participated in the training.  One of the goals of the training is to assist military installations and Federal and State partners in developing cooperative relationships for the continued development and application of Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans which are a requirement of the Sikes Act.
