KENAI: New Brochure Available on Invasive Flora of the Peninsula
Alaska Region, October 17, 2005
Print Friendly Version

An eight-page color Fish and Wildlife Service brochure is now available illustrating 14 of the most common exotic plant species found on and around Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.  Along with color pictures of the plants and their descriptions, the brochure also provides information on preventing the spread of invasive plant species.  The brochure and related efforts establishing the area as a demonstration site for the use of a weed information management system and the promotion of local community "weed pulling events” have resulted from partnerships with the University of Alaska Cooperative Extension Service, The Nature Conservancy, the Kenai Watershed Forum, the National Wildlife Refuge System Invasive Species Program, and the Refuge.  For a copy of the brochure go to http://kenai.fws.gov.
