On July 9, 2005, Don Wilhelm, Texas PFW State Coordinator, made a presentation at an ?Urban Landowner Wildlife Workshop? sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's Urban Program and the Texas Master Naturalists Program. The presentation was entitled ?Managing Farm Ponds for Waterfowl and other Wildlife.? The event was held at the Texas Cooperative Extension Service's Research Center in Dallas, Texas. Over 100 landowners were in attendance and were mainly ?absentee landowners? - people who live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex but own farms or ranches outside of the metroplex.
