Print Friendly Version
With the combined efforts of the Division of Federal Assistance and External Affairs, NAL, the Grant Agreement for the Pueblo of Santa Ana's 2004 Tribal Wildlife Grant titled "Restoration Monitoring of the Pueblo of Santa Ana Rio Grande Bosque Restoration Project" has been approved. With this grant, the Tribe will evaluate wildlife responses to habitat changes resulting from bosque restoration activities and determine the success of the restoration efforts by analyzing wildlife community composition and species richness. Vegetation monitoring will include the evaluation of changes in community composition and structure in response to restoration activities and determining the success of these restoration efforts by analyzing plant community composition and species richness. A unique goal of this grant is to establish an intern program to train Native American youth in wildlife management, ecological restoration, conservation biology, and natural resource management. The Santa Ana Pueblo Department of Natural Resources is responsible for implementing this Grant Agreement.
