Oklahoma Veterans Center Receives Catch of the Day
Southwest Region, October 7, 2004
Print Friendly Version
To enhance the favorite activity of fishing at the state-of-the-art Lawton-Fort Sill Veterans Center in Lawton, OK, Tishomingo NFH carried about 900 lbs. of fish to the center where they were stocked into the fish pond. Older broodstock from the hatchery made up the stocking, making way for the younger broodstock to take over for the 2005 spawning season. Prize catches from the catfish that ranged up to 2 feet in length and over 15 pounds in weight and the bass that weighed three to six pounds will be sure to delight the veteran anglers. Since Tishomingo NFH has a reimbursable agreement with Fort Sill Military Base for catfish, this further serves to enhance cooperation with our military, current and past.
