KENAI: New Airport Display Greets Visitors to Kenai
10 Region, May 21, 2004
Print Friendly Version
A large new interpretive display, with maps and photos, was completed in May at the Kenai Airport thanks to a Challenge Cost Share project and a partnership with the City of Kenai and Alaska State Parks. Other participants in the project included the National Park Service and Chugach National Forest. The display, which depicts not only Kenai National Wildlife Refuge information, but information on all state and federal lands on or near the Kenai Peninsula, will help both locals and newcomers to the area learn about the many and diverse opportunities to recreate on near-by public lands, where these lands are located, and where to find more information. The display, which covers two walls in the newly remodeled airport, was prepared and installed by Wilderness Graphics, Inc. who also donated some of the costs of completing the project.
