KENAI: Monitoring Agreement Reached Between Refuge and National Forest
10 Region, April 2, 2004
Print Friendly Version
A recent agreement signed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, and by the U.S. Forest Service for the Pacific Northwest Research Station, created a new partnership in resource monitoring. The agreement takes advantage of historic and future Forest Inventory and Analysis Program data to help the Refuge develop a cost effective and comprehensive inventory and analysis effort. The results will provide the Refuge with long-term status and trend information for many plants, animals, and insects throughout the 2 million acre Refuge. This is a first of its kind effort within the National Wildlife Refuge System for a broad monitoring effort of this scale.
