Caddo Lake NWR Recognizes Volunteer Couple for More Than 2500 Hours Contributed

Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge gave special recognition to Todd and Sue Richardson of Davison, Michigan after the couple reached the milestone of 2500 hours of volunteer effort at the Refuge. The Richardson’s spent the past three winters at Caddo Lake NWR and have been involved in many projects including the building of informational kiosks, equipment storage areas, bird houses, duck boxes, bat boxes, wildlife observation blinds, trails, etc. They have been actively involved in the Refuge’s community outreach programs offering tours and speaking to various school groups. They have also assisted with maintenance including mowing, cleaning, tree trimming, debris removal, etc. Their contributions have allowed the staff to concentrate on other tasks while making the Refuge a pleasant destination for visitors. Volunteers such as the Richardson’s contribute significantly to the refuge system.
