On a brisk March day, the Friends of Pool 9 held their Bald Eagle Day in Ferryville, Wis. to a very warm public reception. Among the 350 visitors that came to the event, people of all ages had come from locales as far away as Milwaukee. A major part of the event’s success was the line-up of presenters that included members of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, University of Minnesota Raptor Center, and Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Along with great presenters, there was a wide variety of bird-themed activities, snacks and artwork to be enjoyed. The Friends of Pool 9 is planning on repeating the event in 2014. Feel free to come next year and enjoy the fun!
