Oakland County Audubon Society Sponsors Bald Eagle Presentation

On October 9, 2012, the Oakland County (Michigan) Audubon Society hosted U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee Matt Stuber to present information on bald eagle conservation and management in the state of Michigan. Turnout for the talk was outstanding, with approximately 35 members in attendance. Presentation attendees learned about eagle history as well as the multitude of monitoring programs, state and federal management, and conservation challanges related to bald eagles today.

 

Stuber is an eagle biologist in the Service's East Lansing Field Office and is the Service's eagle contact for the states of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Stuber conducts eagle research and monitoring in Michigan and assists with management of the species througout the region.
