The 5th biennial CALFED Science Conference was held in Sacramento in October 2008.  The conference theme was “Global Perspectives and Regional Results: Science and Management in the Bay-Delta System.”  Over 1,000 people attended this three day conference, that included 51 sessions, 255 oral presentations, and 192 poster presentations.  There were four oral presentations and eight poster contributions from the Stockton Fish and Wildlife Office.  Attending and presenting at this conference was a first for some of our biological science technicians.  Five Stockton office staff chaired sessions and 6 staff members participated in judging student posters and oral presentations.  Participating in this conference provided an opportunity for our office to share our knowledge about local research as well as learn about research in our local community and around the world.
